This beautiful outdoor locking retail kiosk was designed for the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, an amusement park in Galveston, Texas. The purpose was to expand their retail kiosks program by providing a colorful mobile point-of-sale to sell themed apparel like sunglasses, shirts, sandals, shorts and towels.
It is built from powder-coated aluminum so that it's light, mobile and durable. The paint will not chip or fade as it's electrostatically applied to the metal so the kiosk should always look as good as the day they bought it. Indeed, they are still in use today and you can see them in a photo on the shops tab of their website.
Designed for secure and mobile retail sales
The design of their outdoor kiosks was carefully thought out. The Pleasure Pier needed them to be colorful to fit in with a carnival theme, and also to draw the attention of their guests. The idea was to provide the most secure retail sales area possible in a small, mobile platform so they could be easily moved and secured. To accomplish this, a square retail merchandiser unit design was used, giving access to the four-sided interior slatwall display from all sides.
To secure the merchandise after hours, four large and locking roll-down commercial doors were used. The inventory was illuminated by the use of LED lighting.
